(May 1, 2009) The Yellowknife Polar Bear Swim Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Jane Mooney as Head Coach for the Club for the 2009 - 2010 season and beyond.

Jane takes over from Ian Legaree who recently announced his retirement at the end of the 2008-2009 season. Jane has also assumed responsibility for the Technical Director position with NWT Swimming. In this role, she will assist winter clubs in Fort Smith and Inuvik with their development programs and the Hay River Lions Swim Club as required. Summer pool programs across the NWT will also benefit from Jane's experience as a expanded program of competitive swim camps is planned.

Jane has nearly 15 years of coaching experience with Clubs in Namibia (Oranjemund Swimming Club), South Africa (St. Patrick's College and the Flamingo Swimming Academy in Kimberley) and most recently with the Yellowknife Polar Bear Swim Club as the Developmental Coach for the 2008-2009
